Jimmy Carter was a weak and ineffective president. His presidency would be entirely and happily forgettable, except for the role he played in securing the Camp David peace agreement between Egypt and Israel. Carter never received the credit he deserves for that achievement. But Carters attempt to explain away President Obamas Paris snub is vintage malaise. Carter said, I dont think theres any need for criticism...Hes just come back from vacation so I think hes probably got a lot on his desk. Thats as ridiculous as asking little Amy what she thinks about relations with the Soviet Union. Remember that one? So keep talking, Mr. Carter. The nation needs some comic relief.
