Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches coming to Denham Springs Smoothie King kings are branching out DENHAM SPRINGS - Denham Springs Mayor Jimmy Durbin and the City Council are pleased to announce another exciting new restaurant coming to town. Residents continually ask for more restaurant options, and the city is proud to be able to bring in another top-quality eating establishment. More good news is that the restaurant will place 25–35 people in jobs. Roger Wilder and John Tyler Davidson with One 12 Management Group first contacted the city about 18 months ago to discuss the possibility of bringing a Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches restaurant to Denham Springs. “As soon as the process of the pending site selection is completed, construction should begin,” said Wilder. “We’re certainly hoping for an opening before summer 2015.” Wilder and wife, Stephanie, opened the Denham Springs Smoothie King - their first - in 2001, when Wilder was 24, and his wife was 20. Davidson joined the group a year later. The entrepreneurs now own multiple Smoothie King locations, with a new one opening by the Watson Walmart before the end of the year. The Denham Springs’ Smoothie King has been the Smoothie King Corporation’s number one franchise store in the nation for six of the last seven years, so it’s well known that One 12 Management Group is only involved in quality businesses. The group wanted to branch out, but only with a business having the same high standards of Smoothie King, and Jimmy John’s fits that criteria. Davidson and the Wilders opened their first Jimmy John’s in Gonzales in May, and are now moving forward on the Denham Springs location. Jimmy John’s is known for “freaky fast” service, all fresh ingredients, top-quality food products, and they deliver! Jimmy Johns employees are known as ordinary people doing extraordinary things. “Do it now – make it happen – be a go-getter, no excuses” is the Jimmy John’s employee motto. Wilder said, “Restaurant delivery, other than pizzas, is a new concept for Denham Springs, and that service will not only be beneficial for shut-ins and the elderly, particularly in inclement weather, but especially so for local businesses. While employees man their work stations, they can call in or go online to place orders, and have their meals delivered.” Jimmy John Liautaud was 19-years-old when he opened his first sandwich shop. Young and with limited finances, Liautaud knew he had to get the word out about the wonderful gourmet sandwiches he had created, so he passed out armloads of free sandwiches on the street. College kids were really into his “irreverent attitude and dirt-cheap prices,” and the fact that he delivered sealed the fate of success. Currently, there are over 1,900 locations open. What makes Jimmy John’s different is good products, fast service, decent prices and honesty - Make a deal, keep a deal is their corporate Golden Rule. Jimmy John’s definition of fresh is unlike any other. According to their website, “the bread is baked in-house every day and served fresh. Meat and veggies are sliced fresh in-house every day. The turkey is real turkey, the roast beef is real roast beef – no additives, no vegetable-based fillers, no fake stuff. Nothing is delivered pre-sliced. They use real Hellmanns mayo, real Grey Poupon, real olive oil and red wine vinegar – its the best of the best.” Jimmy John’s also provides catering with 24-hour notice, but in an emergency, ask them anyway, and they’ll do their best to provide what’s needed.
