Jimmy McGilligan Centre For Sustainable Development was visited by group of 28 Master of Social work students from Kurukshetra University,Haryana, alongwith their faculties/ the Chairman .In Nutshell what they said “ This is first time we are with real Face to Face with Social Work. We have more clarity about what to do with our degree. It is an inspiring place to give a clear direction to our future and our role in society. This Centre is a real living model of social work for Sustainable Development. We have never found the complete definition of Sustainable Development in any books that we have understood by being here, seen all the Sustainable Technologies in action and have met a Social Worker who is practicing sustainable living. It has been an opportunity to understand that Social work is not just a profession, it is a commitment, a passion and a very responsible role in society.” Pro C.P Singh said “Purpose of study tour of our students, is fulfilled after they have witnessed the ultimate use of Natural resources absolutely without generating any waste, organically growing everything, enhancing biodiversity. Having seen the slide show & interactive session with Dr Janak Palta McGilligan , a person who has not just transformed herself and thousands of tribal women but even after her retirement she continues to be an endless source of sustainable energy. This will go a long way in lives of our students who are pursuing Masters of Social work degree.”
