Jimmy and I spent the night with my mama and sister last night. We stayed up until after 1 am this morning spending precious time talking and laughing about my Grandmother and other things I cant mention. I remember when I was a teenager I used to sleep on my Grandaddys old bed that my mother has kept all these years. Well I made sure Jimmy was asleep and Glenda said go in there I know you want to sleep on it. And I did. Yep I still felt like I was 16 again lying there then I heard mama start coughing and got up and laid on the couch watching her try to rest and soon she went back to sleep. I got back up and went back to my old bed again. Slept some but couldnt help but remember the days when I was younger and didnt seem to have all the cares and worries I have now. I wished I could go back to helping mama cook in the kitchen and play the piano side by side with my daddy to the song The Meeting In The Air. Mama is feeble now, daddys gone but the memories I have being with my family will never go away. So today my family got together for a Maw day and most were there except Don and Darrell and their families. Wished they were there. W. C. said he thought we should have a maw day once a month which we all agreed. I love this family God has blessed me with and I am so forever grateful to my mama and daddy that loved me unconditionally without fail. I was never pushed away because I was in their way. If I was scarred or just needed a hug, theyd stop and turn to me and just hold me. They made sure I felt like I was the only little girl or big girl in the world. They did the same for the rest of my brothers and sister. Sometimes others would use up their time but we knew that God put so much love in these two, he just opened their hearts for the rest of the world also. Daddy would say you just gotta love them. If we dont love these people, how will they know the love of God? Never mattered how old we all got, their love and time meant and said so much about these two that God blessed us with. Sometimes I didnt deserve it but they loved me when I was daddys little pet and mamas little hun. Mama is ready to go and see daddy but today she got up put on her clothes and went right outside, WALKED by herself and pushed that little cart of hers right in the middle of all the noise and youngins runnin around in the yard and runnin through the woods when Carter ran to me and said granny, guess what? I just killed a snake with a stick and a knife. He was the mighty hunter with Cameron and Karac showing those girly girls how to hunt and kill. Scarred us so bad. Little stinkers. Mama getting onto me, David and W.C. for saying little cheap cuss words, well if you call dang or (fa*t) a bad word. I cant even spell the gas word without feeling like I was cussin. lol, Well to her its called cheap cussing, might as well go ahead and say them other words she said. lol. Just like old times with her today. She laughed we laughed and though we all had troubles and ailments we are dealing with. We somehow pushed them all aside and just loved each other. We had some other folks that wandered in our mix like a Steve and a Brad. Thank you fellas for loving my mama. Mama said she thinks well keep em if theyre good to our girls. lol, guess you could say shes got her eyes on you both. I loved today, love our family and especially loved MAWS DAY...
