Jims doing pretty well. His surgery lasted about three hours. The surgeon said he thinks they got most of the tumor out, and the membrane that was pressed against the optic nerves fell back down in place. He said Jim shouldnt ever have this problem again since even if the tumor started to grow, it would never reach a size to cause problems in Jims remaining lifetime. Theyll be keeping Jim in the hospital over the weekend (not surprising). Theyll do an MRI Sunday and dismiss Monday, barring any unforeseen problems. We have an appointment with the endocrinologist again Monday afternoon. Our plan is to come home Tuesday. I guess things went as well as they could. Not to be greedy, but now were hoping his vision will improve some. No guarantees on that. Basically, the doctor said we needed the tumor out to preserve what sight he has, though some people have vision improvement after surgery. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
