Jinn Induced Madness The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Shaytan flows through man’s veins like blood.” [Bukhaari] Ibn Taymiya, in “Majmoo Fataawa Shaykh al-Isla,” said: “The fact that the jinn may enter the human body is well established according to the consensus of the imaams of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah. Allah says, ‘Those who eat Ribaa (interest) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaytan leading him to insanity.” [Quran 2:275] Abdullah ibn al-Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal said: “I said to my father, some people say that the jinn does not enter the body of the possessed. He said, ‘O my son, they are lying, and the jinn speaks through the mouth of that person.’” The way to avoid possession by the jinn is by following Allah’s guidelines for life – Islam. No one knows more about them than the One who created them and Who has complete power over everything. The comprehensive set of instructions, that is the Shariah of Islam, covers every aspect of our lives, prescribing conduct for our public and private lives; in the market place, in political office, in the courtroom, among our families, in the bathroom, in the kitchen…everywhere. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) seeks to protect us from the evil of that which He has created and He has clearly guided us, better than a doctor guides his patients in how to avoid an outbreak. It is up to us to follow or reject these safety precautions known as the Shariah.
