Joan Rivers was a role model of forthright communication. She did not self censor. So very brave. You know it wasnt easy. And thats what makes her a female role model too. Joan Rivers pushed the boundaries, and she was a woman. She was a role model for being who you are and saying what you think even if it is shocking. She moved us forward as a society by desensitizing us to uncomfortable ideas. She was seemingly fearless. And even beyond what she did for us by expanding our comfort zones, Joan Rivers was a role model for working hard. She should have made everyone feel lazy by comparison. She also seemed like a good mother. And while I may not have agreed with her attitudes about appearance, she was true to her own standards. She may have had the best plastic surgeon in America, because Joan went out looking 35 years younger than she was. I believe that would make her happy. Im so sad to lose her when she still seemed so vital, but Im grateful for what she gave us. She was a leader, a role model, a brilliant and very cool woman. Rest in Peace Joan.
