Job #: 8665 Title: Video Production Specialist Job Rank: TE0K Department: University Information Technology Services Locations: Southeast (New Albany) 8665 - Video Production Specialist This position is a one-person video department. Execute all phases of video and audio production for instructional and administrative purposes. Produce, direct, shoot and edit projects as approved by the department director. Work closely with faculty, staff and the campus web and marketing teams in creation of interactive media. Make artistic, technical and project specific management decisions as necessary, including subject research, script writing, visual design, location lighting and photographic choices, selection of narration, music, editorial decisions and other production concerns. Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in audio/video and/or television production, instructional media technology, and/or visual media design preferred. Plus 3 years experience in audio/video and/or television based production with gradual increases in levels of responsibility; including years spent in coursework or master’s program. Creative and technical skills in digital videography, lighting, audio recording, audio/video post-production applications and video codecs/formats. In-depth knowledge and experience with audio and video Podcasting, streaming video, and high definition video creation. Software proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, audio/video post-production software including Final Cut Pro, Motion or After Effects, Photoshop, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro required Excellent oral and written communication skills. Scheduling, time management and project management skills. Must have the ability to identify needs, take action, and solve problems within areas of responsibility without direct oversight. Strong organizational skills, ability to work on several tasks simultaneously, flexibility to adapt to sudden priority changes, problem-solving skills. Proven orientation toward quality service Ability to work with wide range of people Quick, hands-on self-learner. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to move bulky equipment between buildings. Average mobility needed: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting and climbing ladders.
