Updates volunteer handbook. Ensures all confidentiality agreements are signed. Responds to telephone calls. Manages the current Petfinder and Facebook websites as well as respond to inquiries. Oversees all training of all volunteers and the daily activities of volunteers. Oversees all offsite adoption locations. Inspects all offsite adoption locations. Schedules all volunteers in accordance to our operating hours. Plans and arranges for all offsite adoption locations and volunteers. Assists administrative staff with daily operations in the handling of customers. Works with Animal Control Field Supervisor in providing animal behavior education programs in schools. Validates all revenue made from offsite adoptions. Ensures all material is available for offsite adoptions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of relevant local and state codes, regulations, and laws. Knowledge of various species and breeds of animals. Knowledge of the principles and practices of animal control management. Knowledge of the principles and practices of animal euthanasia. Knowledge of the principles of records management. Knowledge of animal behavior and behavior management techniques. Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office administration. Skill in problem solving and decision making. Skill in the identification of animal injuries and diseases. Skill in management and supervision. Skill in operating standard office equipment. Skill in creating and designing brochures, pamphlets and other informational literature for distribution to the general public. Skill in oral and written communication. Minimum Educational and Training Requirements: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service. Physical Requirements: The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color. The work is typically performed in an office or animal shelter. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, irritating chemicals and infectious diseases.
