Moses Blvd. Dayton, Ohio Department: Job & Family Services Class Concept Benefits Supplemental Questions Under general supervision from Job and Family Services Supervisor, Job and Family Services Manager or higher level administrator, provides essential functions of locating employers for placement of public assistance recipients, counsels individuals preparatory to job placement, interviews applicants to determine eligibility for public assistance programs, functions as member of an overpayment determination unit and reviews all types of public assistance cases for accuracy, conducts in-house and field investigations relative to the establishment and collection of child support and the enforcement of court orders. Job Duties: Interviews applicants for purposes of determining eligibility for public assistance programs, computes budgets, verifies documents submitted to support public assistance requests, approves or denies applications for public assistance, explains to recipients their rights, procedures, programs, policies and available services, refers customers to other government or private agencies, makes burial arrangements and administers estates and insurance of trusts in case of deceased persons who were former recipients, reviews eligibility determination in quality control capacity, determines accuracy.
