Job Title: Sales Manager, Domestic Sales Department/Division: Sales Reports to: Sales & Market Director, dotted line to the MD Job Purpose: The Sales Manager’s (SM) role is to collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Director in establishing and planning the realistic sales goals, sales budget, service standards and the management of a formidable sales force in delivering the set objectives within the agreed guidelines for Malaysia. The SM will handle personal accounts as well as being overall responsible for the development of the accounts under thesales team. He is responsible for the creation, monitoring, execution and management of effective training, recruitmentand morale boosting programs to drive sales and maximize revenue. KEY TASKS & ACTIVITIES : Overall Responsibilities A. As HOD 1. To manage and act as mentor to the sales department in: a. the training, grooming and positive motivation of the sales personnel b. the delivery of the agreed service level c. meeting the sales goal or sales objective within the budget d. the safeguarding and projecting of the brand and corporate image e. relationship building and enhancement with the dealers f. the conformity to the marketing objectives during the sales process g. the conformity to the corporate processes when executing each specific function h. the management of debt collections through the strict enforcement of the AR Policy i. the management of the Company assets under the department, and j. department staff discipline. 2. Planning and execution of effective management and incentive programs to instil staff discipline, loyalty and career development for the team. 3. Responsible for the welfare of the sales department in terms of recommendation of competitive remuneration packages ensuring commensuration with performance and delivery of KPI. 4. Creation and management of a formidable sales team that is quick to action and results oriented. B. Delivering the Sales 1. To deliver both Personal as well as the Sales Team’s as per agreed targets and within the budget guidelines. 2. To implement national sales programs via field sales action plans. 3. To monitor and to execute corrective measures as and when necessary. 4. Establishes monthly sales objectives by realistic forecasting and the development of monthly, quarterly and annual regional or territorial sales quotas. 5. To achieve sales objective via maximizing of depth and width of product mix C. Market Knowledge 1. To keep the Company updated on all developments in the marketplace and to be sensitive to all potential threats and opportunities with regard to the business. 2. To keep abreast of all market developments including competitors’ supply and demand situations 3. To be constantly updated on changing trends, economic indicators and competitor actions. D. Team 1. To continuously support and participate in all programmes and events under the brand in order to achieve an enviable and strong Team . 2. To work closely with all other relevant HOD and departments. E. Achieving the KPI 1. To continuously recommend for refinement of the KPI with the view of developing a formidable Sales Team as well as providing the push for achieving beyond the limits of the Sales Objective. F. Self-Development 1. Keeps abreast of innovation and new product developments by attending internal/external educational workshops/seminars, reviewing technical information, professional & motorsport publications and establishing personal networks. G. Specifics 1. Manage all approved accounts by providing professional service calls with the ultimate objective of obtaining quality sales orders and ensuring collection of payments as per agreed term and conditions. 2. Manage the enlistment of prospective dealers with the aim of creating new viable accounts. 3. Supervise the content of sales presentations and sales kits as and when necessary by studying and customizing to the type of sales outlets. 4. Strategize sales efforts by constant reviews of existing and potential volume of dealers with the sales team. 5. Supervise the order taking and order processing to ensure that they conform to company requirements. 6. Supervise the reporting by the Sales Team to ensure conformity for daily submission of activity and results reports, such as Daily Call Report, Weekly Work Plans, Monthly and Annual territory analysis. 7. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products launches, merchandising techniques, etc. 8. Recommends changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments. 9. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparation of reports and making recommendations to the management. 10. Maintains and update on professional and technical knowledge by attending product training workshops, reviewing professional publications for competitors’ products and strategies, establishing personal networks and participating in professional circles. 11. Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales. 12. Contribute to team effort by assisting in the accomplishment of related results as needed. 13. Hire, mentor, train, guide, motivate and discipline the assigned sales team. 14. Ensure development of the sales team according to agreed Company guidelines and policies. 15. Be responsible for the job performance of the Sales Team. H. Others 1. Any other ad hoc assignments or increase in portfolio. Important Note: a. This is a management position and your performance will be reviewed based on delivery of results and achievement per KPI. b.
