Reporting to the Web Manager, this position will work with other members of the web team, web users, county departments and other stakeholders to ensure that the countys web and eGov online service applications meet the needs of our residents and others who rely on county web content. The Hennepin County Web Team is housed within County Administration. The team oversees the standards and quality of the countys online presence, including the countys public-facing website, Hennepin.us. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:•Support Hennepin County web standards through site review and feedback to authors. •Participate as a key member of the county web team, to support projects and execute tasks related to Hennepin Countys intranet site, hennepin.us. •Develop, write, edit, proofread, and publish web content through a content management system. •Promote usability of all aspects of the website including plain language, user-centered design, and effective search. •Assist in all aspects of content lifecycle management including data review, user metrics, and content updating. •Identify needs of audience through surveys, web analytics, and audience feedback. •Provide customer service, help desk support, and training to county authors. Best Qualified Candidates will have:•Bachelors degree or higher in public administration, business administration, marketing, or a related field and two or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations. •Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. •Technical computer aptitude. •Experience in:◦Working with content development projects. ◦Rewriting text to plain language. ◦Using a content management system (e.g. Sitecore, Sharepoint). ◦Using site evaluation tools (i.e. Siteimprove, Google Analytics). ◦Understanding what the public needs from government. ◦Evaluating content usability through testing and audience feedback. ◦Understanding and applying metadata and web analytics to improve search results. ◦User-centered design. •Ability to:◦Work independently in an environment that requires attention to detail and precision. ◦Work with people and organizations that represent significant diversity in culture, values, education, occupation, and income. ◦Organize, plan, and prioritize work, while handling multiple, complex, and simultaneous tasks in a fast-pace environment. ◦Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels in the organization. ◦Be persuasive and diplomatic. ◦Problem solve.
