Job Vacancy: Senior QA Engineer – Oman Required Technical Competencies: 1. Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Welding Engineering or Metallurgy. 2. Welding and Painting Inspection Qualification or equivalent to European Welding and Painting Engineer. 3. Demonstrated sound technical knowledge in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDT and general fabrication methods in onshore oil and gas industry. At least ASNT –TC-1A level II or higher qualifications in RT, UT, PT and MT. 4. Registered IRCA Lead Assessor or its equivalent. Experience in 3rd and/or 2nd party quality system audits (vendor assessment) is a must. 5. Knowledgeable in GRP,GRE, HDPE , RTP, Duplex stainless steel and CRA steel, 13Cr stainless steel piping systems. 6. At least 18 years relevant experience in the construction of onshore oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries facilities (pressure vessels, mechanical fabrication, pipelines, piping etc.) including live installations. Out of 12 years’ experience, 5 years of experience shall have gained in the Middle East preferably in Oil & Gas environment. 7. 5 years management experience in establishment, operation and maintenance of a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9000, capability of developing quality system, quality plans, work procedures and inspection plans and training Company and contractor personnel in QA/QC. Contract quality management of onshore oil and gas facilities or petrochemical industries in a senior supervisory position is preferred. 8. Experience of working to and fully conversant with international codes (ANSI/ASME, ASTM, API, BS, MSS) used in oil and gas industry, ERDs, SPs, STDs including Shell DEPs. Roles & Responsibilities A. Advising, guiding and motivating Line management on all QA and QC activities and related technical matters. B. Assess and monitor contractor’s/vendor’s Quality Management Systems against ISO 9000 and ensuring the quality management system suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. C. Providing relevant QA/QC training for Client personnel. D. Review Quality Plans, test packs, welding procedures including NDE & other quality related procedures and documents. E. Assist/promote contractors/vendors and the Company to develop Quality Systems and contract quality documents. F. Plan audit schedules, notify Auditees, prepare audit checklists, lead or participate in quality & HSE Audits, prepare Audit Reports and follow-up corrective actions and close out. G. Monitor quality trends including supervision of interior inspection surveillance personnel and assist Construction Heads in the areas of quality. Overseeing all QA/QC personnel understand and effectively deliver their QA/QC responsibilities. H. When required, carry-out routine surveillance, inspections as per the project QCPs covering all construction activities. I. Maintain database of Audits, Corrective Actions and feedback on Contractor performance. Provide monthly report with NCR s statistics up date. J. Develop quality related procedures as applicable. K.
