The University of Rhode Island seeks a leader in college housing who thinks big for the role of Assistant Director for Residential Education. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals and to help build a nationally recognized housing program in support of the university’s goals of promoting global citizenry, equity, and diversity, and preparing students for a changing world. The Assistant Director for Residential Education reports to the director and serves as the department’s lead housing officer for the residential education program on the URI Kingston Campus. The Assistant Director: · Manages all out-of-classroom educational and developmental programs and opportunities in the residence halls · Oversees community development, relationship-building, and community standards efforts in the halls · Co-champions diversity and learning in the organization · Leads the Resident Advisor (RA) and Resident Academic Mentor (RAM) programs · Contributes significantly to the university’s living and learning community program · Promotes a culture of professional development and organizational learning The position supervises full-time and part-time live-in residence hall and central office staff. The role will require a flexible work schedule including some evening and weekend work.
