( Job opportunity ) Business Support Centre (Job description) General Description Business Support Centre Vision is to create economic opportunity for youth, especially those in under served communities, grow and support a higher number of Start ups and SMEs, and also to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of start-ups and existing businesses through business support, consulting, funding, networking, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and hi-level skills in Yemen. The BSC will strive to become the driving force, and innovative leader, for the Yemeni business community with regard to the support of Entrepreneurship. Eventually the BSCs’ independence and professionalism will allow it to become the first port of call for Yemeni private sector entrepreneurial businesses wishing to grow, to operate with international standards, and to develop export markets. The BSC aims to influence and accelerate the transition of the Yemeni business environment to one that is more supportive of private sector business, and to one that becomes enabling rather than controlling. The BSCs’ ultimate vision is to allow Yemenis to build a more prosperous and equitable society through the freedom to capitalize on their natural entrepreneurial ability. BSC Mission is to contribute towards the economic development through promoting the entrepreneurship of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as support the potential and existent entrepreneurs for establishing or further development of their businesses. The Project Coordinator operates at the project level and officially, with other team members, represents BSC in Sanaa. He/she will be involved in operations, implementation and gathering of lessons learnt of different activities of the BSC. ............................................................................................................ # Tasks and Responsibilities • Designing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring awareness raising campaigns for the different target groups; • Coordinating and supervising the project promotion, advertisement and outreach, and ensuring extensive web-based presence; • Supervising project logistics and office management; • Providing training and BDS coaching to project beneficiaries; • Following-up relations with government agencies, local authorities, local institutions, etc; • Supporting Project Director to effectively manage relations with Central Government; • Building and coordinating civil society relations (youth, women); • Coordinating operational relations with partners; • Contributing to project sustainability and additional project development and fundraising; • Representing the Yemen business support Centre before the public; • Any other related task required for project implementation. .......................................................................................................... # Requirements and skills • 5 years experience with Masters level education in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Project Management or other related fields • Minimum 7 years working experience in and in-depth knowledge of Yemen • Proven work experience with programme management (at least 2 years); • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and Arabic; • Experience working on private sector development projects or in the private sector; • Network in private sector and public institutions; • Proven programme development experience; • Proven experience with project cycle management; • Expertise in the field of monitoring and evaluation of programmes is an asset; ............................................................................................................ # Job specific competencies (general SPARK competencies are: flexibility, result-oriented, entrepreneurial) • Good communication and social skills and ability to (net)work in multicultural settings; • Good team worker while able to work independently; • Job specific competencies (general SPARK competencies are: flexible, result-oriented, entrepreneurial). • Proven time management skills; # You can submit your CVs to ( [email protected] ) as soon as possible
