Thanks Robert Robert Giovannetti Aviation Fine Arts Digital Artist dreamplanes.net Obtaining a grant or support for my art work Inspiration My name is Robert Giovannetti from Morrisville PA I guess I should start by saying how mush I love aviation. As far back as I can remember at the age of 8 years old remembering my Father taking me to McGuire Air Force base to watch the jets fly, at that time they where flying F-84 - Thunder streaks. I knew at that time where I was going in the love that I had for aviation But did not realize that somewhere along the way that there was a deep hidden talent that inspired me to create artistically what I wanted to show the world what the love that someone has for something can grow to almost perfect perfection. As time progressed I knew I needed to find something to use the talents that I have to produced what I was trying to achieve and that was to study the fine art of photography, twenty years had passed and studied the art using slide film and models to create what was on my mind to get the effect that I wanted. The reason why models where used was because it was very hard to get the military to give me permission to get what I wanted to bring out the shot regarding as we say keeping it real. So when the models came to look very authentic I felt the military was no longer needed so then I would be able to move on in creating what I loved. As the world changed with the technology of the computer age where I still used Photography to achieve what I was after in creating the art work, but at that time the medium still looked like They where photographs. One day I got a job working for Hertz Rent a car as a computer graphics artist in Atlantic City. at the airport not knowing there was an F-16 wing right next door to where I was working and As you can realize heaven for me was at my doorstep. A few weeks later I got very close to the facility and showed them the work that I was into, they where very pleased and ask me if I would be interested in giving an art show at Stockton College where the funds made through my work would send 5 applicants to achieve scholarships at the college, well the show went so well that the Air Guard at Atlantic City ask me what I wanted as my reward, my position was always to give but not receive so they suggested if I ever been to a Red Flag exercise and that’s where I ended up with a free trip to Nellis Air Force base, and need I say more how exiting that was. While at the base I was taken to where Thunderbird headquters was and got a tour trough the hanger where there jets where, met a few of the pilots and crew chief mechanics and believe me that was an honor never to be forgotten. While in the briefing room where the TB pilots got there briefings there a film would be observed and a short discussion about the Thunderbirds, when the film was over I took notice of a painting on the wall of one of there aircraft coming off the runway, wow it was beautiful I new at that time changes would be made to my work that would no linger look like photographs but paintings. Knowing in my heart all the talent that I had I felt I had a serious problem in trying To paint what I loved so dearly so, but little did I know I used phography and the technology of The computer to get the results of what I had seen on the wall at Nellis and to my surprise it worked now all the art work that I produce is referred to as a digital painting and to all that have purchased my work to has always asked is your work a painting or did I paint this and my respond is no, it is a digital painting where photographic files with computer software to achieve an oil painting effect that caused more curiosity to the one who is viewing it.
