Joe Cocker is dead. I wasnt a huge fan but I knew, as anyone who ever heard him knows, the boy could sing a song. He did mostly covers and a lot from the Beatles. I came of age in a time when serious artists didnt do covers. But Cocker improved, often by a wide, wide margin, every song he sang. This is interesting, in our post racial time, but when I was a kid, we didnt have the Internet, obviously, just the radio. I was in my late 20s before I discovered Joe Coker WASNT black!
