Joel 3:9-14 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. As we look at this passage of scripture tonight, look at what the Lord is saying to the children if Israel. Now remember that after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we the christians are Gods chosen people. We are the spiritual Israel so to speak. Also, as I have told you before, I believe that God has a message for us in every part of the scriptures. The old testament is not just a bunch of stories. We are not suppose to just throw away the old testament and use only the new testament. God has a message for us in the old testament scriptures as well. Here He has Joel tell them to proclaim to the Gentiles, to prepare for war. We need to understand tonight that there is a way that is taking place. But its not a physical war. Ephesians 6:10-12 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. There is a spiritual battle that is taking place and We are the army of God!!!!!!!!!! He goes on to say here that we need to assemble ourselves together and to bring the heathen and gather ourselves together round about. He says that its time for the heathen to wake up. He says to put the sickle in the field, for the harvest is ripe. He said that there are multitudes in the valley if decision!!!!!!!! Jesus tells us in John 4:35, Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. In Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. In Luke 10:2 Jesus said, Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. We are the laborers that God has chosen to we forth into His harvest. The fields are the world that we live in, the harvest are those around us that are lost, or that dont know Jesus as their personal Savior. They are the ones that are fathered in the valley if decision. What are we doing to reach them? Are we working in the harvest of the Lord? Are we serving Him and seeking to do His will? Are striving to be His laborers? I would have to say that for most of us, the answers to these questions would be no!!!!!!! Most of us, if we worked at our natural jobs with the same work ethic that we work for God, we would be unemployed. We would have been fired!!!!!!!!!! God tells us to be involved of the harvest of the lost!!!!!!!! Remember He tells us in Matthew 28 to go into all the world and teach every nation. Acts 1:8 tells us to be witnesses for Him!!!!!!!!! Are you being the witness that He has called you to be, Have you been the laborer that He has asked to be? Youre the only one that answer that question. Its time for us to wake up and get out into the fields of the world and seek Him and seek to do His work and service!!!!!!!!!!!! Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
