Joel shared---Does anyone else find themselves annoyed with certain component manufacturers advertising on FB? I know you dont have to like or follow them if you dont want to see but still, something rubs me wrong here. Im close to where I once was activity wise, but my foot is holding me back, bigtime. I see these ads showing people jogging over rocky terrain while promising to improve your life, ect ect. Of course, they cant sell you the foot direct. You have to through your CP. I get it, weve got liability issues here and besides, people need to profit off of us as much as they can. They claim the cost of the foot is based on what your insurance will pay, and what your co-payment would be. This is where I go BALLISTIC. In other words, theyll charge you according to what your insurance is willing to pay and amount youre left with out of pocket. Is that suppose to impress me? Am I supposed to feel like this manufacturer cares about me? NOPE, they clearly care about profit. They want as much as your Ins will pay! Theyll charge less if your insurance covers less? BS! If they can charge less, why then not stay with that pricing structure and help us in a real way? I could go on for hours about this. Bottom line, your silly FB ad, and all the amputee support in the world may make your product sound great, but youre still trying to make every dollar you can with our livelihood on the line. Thanks for nothing. Ive got a project Im working on. A major foot manufacturer that claims to be competitively priced and billed according to insurance/copay variables is about to get a test! I have two separate CPs inquiring about a specific foot, presenting two very different insurance and income scenarios. Were going to find out all the info about costs and it will be published on a public blog so the amputee community can see a little deeper into what the manufacturers make and really need to make based on our misfortune.
