Joey was well enough to go to school today! He actually lasted the whole day too. When he got home he looked tired and said he had a headache. Shauwn & I planned on taking the boys to the game place at the mall. Joey loves that place and didnt want to miss out so I gave him Tylenol & some food. By the time we got there he was starting to feel better. Unfortunately, Elizjah started to feel a bit ill when play time was over. I always start to panic on the inside when I see someone in my house is not feeling well. I dont know if its because Im a mom, or if its because my subconscious relates sickness as sickness=cancer. Cancer can really cause a lot of havoc in the a persons WHOLE family. If effects every family member differently. Joey is going back to school tomorrow. His Oncology social worker will be visiting the class tomorrow to talk to the kids about Joey, and his cancer treatment. She will be explaining why kids fighting cancer have no hair and, why Joey has an NG tube through his nose. Many kids do not understand and are very curious so this really helps. Joey has been stopped by kids in the hall at school, asking why he looks like that. He doesnt mind educating kids about it all because he says, The more kids know about cancer and what people go through, the more they understand. Its better that they understand rather then just staring, wondering, or making up stuff. This way if they meet another person fighting cancer they will be nice to them, and know what they are going through. I told him that I very much agreed with him, and that hes doing a great job. ☺
