John 13:34-35: Jesus commands (in love) His apostles and disciples: 34) A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another (all believers); as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35) By this (loving one another, regardless of denominational affiliation, different doctrinal beliefs, etc.: See Romans 14:1-6) shall all men know that ye are My disciples. There were only twelve apostles, and they are listed in Matthew 10:1-4. However, Judas Iscariot was only numbered with the twelve, for he was never saved, for the scripture tells us for he (Judas) was a thief (John 12:3-6). And Psalm 108:6-19 declares this false apostle; and do we presume that Jesus, Who knew the hearts of all men, being God the Word in the flesh? The plan of Jesus in His choosing of the apostles always included Saul of Tarsus (Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles). Even when the eleven apostles cast lots to select a twelfth apostle (for they knew the prophecy that his (Judas) bishopric let another take, and they thought they would fill that empty position, and the lot fell upon Matthias, that was not Jesus choosing. But Jesus selected Saul of Tarsus (Paul) while Paul was on the road to Damascus: Acts 9:1-20; Romans 1:1... All apostles are disciples, but all disciples are not apostles, though we are commanded to do the work of an apostle in our daily walk in Jesus: Matthew 28:18-20.
