John 14:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. It is so easy to let our hearts be troubled. We are anxious about all kinds of things. We worry and fret and lose sleep over bills, family stress, health concerns and a multitude of other items. Our hearts are troubled by the pain of the world around us as well as the pain in our own lives. It can be very hard to remember to give God our stress. We have a hard time trusting that God has the power to calm our troubled hearts. God knows this. Again and again in Scripture Jesus says, “Do not be afraid.” And in this passage he says “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” Take a moment to sit with your troubled heart. Shut your eyes and bow your head and hand your worries over to God. Do not let your heart be troubled. Take a deep breath and let God fill you with peace. Blessings, Pastor Sarah L.
