John 14 If you ever need definitive proof from Jesus’ own words - TopicsExpress

John 14 If you ever need definitive proof from Jesus’ own words that He is equal to His father, here it is. As much as Jesus tried to tell His disciples that He was God the Son, they still found the concept difficult. The first Commandment says, “Behold our God is One”, and to the devout Jew this meant that there are no other gods or “persons” of God. God is one person and that is that. Yet, here Jesus says “believe in Me exactly like you believe in God”. He also says, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father” (notice He says ”Father”, a term of affection that Jews did not use). What further proof does one need as this says “I and my Father are one”? John 10:30. Christ was sent by the Father, and says “I’m going back to prepare a place for you”. He also says that “He will return”, indemnifying His role as Messiah and King. (Heb. Melech HaMoschiach). We can take great comfort in the physical return of Jesus Christ and our full redemption. We will live and reign with Christ forever according to His promises. Since He is both God, King and Messiah, He does not lie or else the entire Bible is a lie and we are as hopeless as Muslims, Hindu’s, Buddhists, etc. whose pagan gods do lie. Want proof? How many true Christians have risked death to become Muslims? The answer is NONE. Yet every day, Muslims turned Christian risk death in almost every country. True Christians love Muslims as they trust God to convert them to Christ, yet Muslims hate Christians. More Muslims than ever are turning to Christ for salvation because God the Son has that kind of influence on them, and because the god of Muslims has turned out to be a false god. Only God, the true and living God, can have such influence on people that they will risk death in a defenseless posture rather than recant. It has been so for some 2000 years and at the cost of 60 million lives. No other faith can boast these kinds of numbers as men and women WILLINGLY suffering death, not in war, but in peaceful persuasion of their faith. They did not take up arms, but used the armor of the Living God to witness their faith. Jesus is God the Son, and will forgive those who will repent of their sins and trust Him in faith.
