John 15: 9-17 Abide in My love 9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Fathers commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another. Those whom God loves as a Father, may despise the hatred of all the world. As the Father loved Christ, who was most worthy, so He loved His disciples, who were unworthy. All that love the Savior should continue in their love to Him, and take all occasions to show it. The joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment, but the joy of those who abide in Christs love is a continual feast. They are to show their love to Him by keeping His commandments. If the same power that first shed abroad the love of Christ in our hearts, did not keep us in that love, we should not long abide in it. Christs love to us should direct us to love each other. He speaks as about to give many things in charge, yet names this only; it unequaled many duties. Suffering for Righteousness Sake 8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? Though Christians cannot always be exactly of the same mind, yet they should have compassion one of another, and love as brethren. If any man desires to live comfortably on earth, or to possess eternal life in heaven, he must bridle his tongue from wicked, abusive, or deceitful words. He must forsake and keep far from evil actions, do all the good he can, and seek peace with all men. For God, all- wise and every where present, watches over the righteous, and takes care of them. None could or should harm those who copied the example of Christ, who is perfect goodness, and did good to others as His followers... May we love as Christ. With the same love He has given you. Give freely to others in His name. Live with peace in your hearts. That you may give peace in word and deeds. Keeping our eyes on Christ. Doing for others as He would have done for you. May The Holy Spirit give you the words in times of consoling. To love others is to love Christ. There are some people that are easy to love, just as there are some who will test your love for Christ. I pray you remember this. That Jesus would not ask of you something that was beyond or impossible for you to do. Jesus would not ask you to do something that you could not accomplices. There in lies the need to , Abide in Him. For with Jesus all thing are possible. Even loving the unlovable. Love one another with the love of Jesus Christ. In Jesus name.
