John Bryden reports this evening...... When the peaceful residents of a rich country such as Scotland watch their neighbours and families suffer and go hungry. When they watch its savings deminish as banks fail to invest in its people. When they see the banks prefer to invest in overseas for Institutional profits which are never shared with its customers. When those banks are prepared to risk it all in foreign lands lose it all and leave the people to struggle through austerity measures with which they have no control while continuing to spend on arms to feed foreign wars. It seems incredible to us here at the news desk that so many people are able to be hoodwinked by the overseas banks. Thinking the banks are speaking out in their best interests. We want to see Scotland build a peoples bank structure investing in the local businesses in local economy. When town centre Council rates are so high people cant affort to lease a council owned shop and town centres lie empty. We think its time to let the people invest in themselves. Not continue to let a war mongering stranger 600 miles away take care of their pound.
