...John Coletrane songs... so really give John Cole train a Facebook award for most melodic sax player... he may get another award in the future... This is an important award because. (I sent a song of me to Quincy Jones a few months ago. And he responded back and said Melody is the voice of God... And hes right... And thats a great phrase and I dont think Ill ever forget that because. You have to have the experience of knowing about music in order to even think of a phrase like that... you would have to know... sometimes struggling music isnot to sell records is to create something thats recognized in the future. Something not-so-subtle that nobody recognizes that in your time. But you know its the subtleties that make timeless music or timeless playing. obviously people like John MacLachlan recognized what Im talking about right now.) When I was younger I had a couple of old cassettes . I didnt really listen to them on much but I did listen to them several times. Im noticing things now 30 years later that are very different about his playing. See back then I was listening to a lot of music that was very jazzy in blues and guitar end trumpet music that had a lot of emotion in the playing... So his staff didnt stand out as much as it does today... I can really hear the difference in his playing from other horn players like Charlie Parker and Miles Davis. This guy might be a lot better. Not as a player but as a creator of sounds and creating sounds and scales in emotional phrases in your mind that are very melodically complex but easy to listen to. Which put you on a higher level when you can do this on the same level as everybody else whos doing stuff that isnt as relative Or relevant to the notes before in the flow of passages.see when I was listening to his playing I was famous of what if he was playing a trumpet would it still be like this. and the answer is yes it would he with the stood out on any instrument because he has a natural ability for phrasing that is pleasing to the mind when youre hearing it the first time . And the ways using different textures in the trumpet sounds are not random specifically doing everything that hes playing and all the different sounds at specific times on specific notes at specific volumes velocities. Because hes aware of the fact that hes trying to make melodic jazz music. Rather than randomized jazz music.like Miles Davis music you have to listen to it a lot in order to like it. Because it hasnt eeriness to it. And I listen to a lot more Miles Davis music then John Coltrane. but this guy might be the best sax wherever. Im not sure.see Dizzy Gillespie plays trumpet anyplace unbelievable fast lanes but theyre not exactly melodic and really pleasing to the ear. But this guy sounds that hes getting out of his socks at this specific times that hes playing these notes is not accidental.or just blowing out noteshes not doing anything like that. And hes not just blowing out scales. Hes thinking ahead of what hes playing. And creating an emotional story in his playing. In comparison to most jazz players that played horns. I was listening to Charlie Parker to. And I used to have a Charlie Parker cassette with John Cole train on it as well. But I didnt notice these things back then as I was listening to so much jazz. When I was 11 years old to about 17. And then when I was about 21 to about 26, I was listening to Jazz on my Walkmans... And nohttps://youtube/watch?v=clC6cgoh1sU
