John Fugelsang makes fun of GOP: Republicans aren’t even the party of Quayle anymore While Republicans like to say they’re the “party of Lincoln,” former Current TV host John Fugelsang reached into their more modern history on Wednesday while mocking them during an interview with MSNBC host Ed Schultz. “The ‘party of Lincoln’ — they’re not even the party of Quayle anymore,” Fugelsang said, invoking the name of oft-mocked former Vice-President Dan Quayle. “They lost in Congress on Obamacare, they lost with the conservative Supreme Court, they lost with the American voters in a national election, they’re losing the PR battle in their own government shutdown, and so now they are reduced — a once-mighty party — to mocking software.” Fugelsang and Schultz keyed in on apparent GOP glee over “glitches” in the online sign-up process for the healthcare exchanges mandated by the Affordable Care Act, which have attracted more than 4 million people since going into effect on Tuesday, with Fugelsang singling out Fox News host Sean Hannity, who complained that delays could delay ambulance response times. “That’s like saying, ‘Oh my god, YouTube went down and my TV repairman won’t get here in time,” a dismissive Fugelsang told Schultz. Schultz also went so far as to argue that “there are no glitches” in the process. “If you opened up a restaurant, and you couldn’t feed anybody because there were too many people that got in early and you just couldn’t handle the line, do you think the manager of the restaurant is gonna go back and chew out the staff because response was overwhelming?” Schultz asked rhetorically. “I think they’d call that a good night at the office. But of course Fox News and the Republicans, they call that ‘a glitch.’” ~ Arturo Garcia, Raw Story
