John The Baptist Prepares The Way For The Lord.. What are you doing? Lets see... Luke 3:3-9, Then John went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.. Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, preparing the way for the Lords coming! Clear the road for him! The valleys will be filled, and the mountains and hills made level. The curves will be straightened, and the rough places made smooth. And then all people will see the salvation sent from God.. When the crowds came to John for baptism, he said, You brood of snakes! Who warned you to flee Gods coming wrath? Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Dont just say to each other, Were safe, for we are descendants of Abraham. That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones. Even now the ax of Gods judgement is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire...... Back to my question from the start: WHAT ARE YOU DOING in proclaiming the person of Jesus Christ to a lost and compromising world? Tell me!.... Anything my friends?......Could Isaiah be speaking of you when he prophesied, These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me!???.... As you can tell by reading my morning post, God has given me the job of challenging the hearts and lifestyles of all church-goers... So, my challenge to you this morning, and to me as well - Will the fruit that your tree is producing today, keep you from being thrown into the fires of hell? In other words, does your lifestyle reflect that youre a follower of Jesus Christ or a lover of this world?.. Loving Jesus means that you are willing to be His hands, feet, and voice to this sick world we are living in. And, loving this world means that your love for your many idols overshadows your love for God.... So, which is it for you church-goer, Jesus or the world?..... Are you disappointed at the answer your heart is giving you?.. Jesus is waiting for you now! And, for most of you, Hes waiting for you to come back!!!..Are you willing?...... I guess well see on judgement day, wont we........
