John Wayne Cancer Foundation is a leader in cancer science and care. Like John Wayne Cancer Foundation on Facebook! JWCF donated $100,000 to Roundup River Ranch in 2013 to send 40 child cancer survivors to a week-long summer camp for free. The camp experience helps improve the lives of children ages 6-16 and provides medical treatment onsite to ensure that even kids who are going through treatment can attend. This is JWCFs 3rd year supporting RRR and the camp is located near Vail Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. JWCF would like to thank all the donors and volunteers who made this week possible. Please join John Wayne to improve the lives of child cancer patients. Visit johnwayne.org and click Join John Wayne to start fundraising to help JWCF send more kids to camp for free. It is only $2,500 to send a kid to camp so they can reclaim their lives and dreams from cancer with their peers. This is a fraction of the overall cost of cancer treatment, yet it makes all the difference in the world. The kids have shown us their true grit, now its your turn. Saddle up with John Wayne. Roundup River Ranch is a medically supported camp for kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses – the place where they can truly feel incredible, no matter what illness they’re battling. RRR puts the focus on their fun, not their conditions. And most importantly, RRR gives kids an experience that encourages their lives, allowing them to simply enjoy the fun, games, and joys of childhood – for free. Activities like a challenge course, music and theater, arts and crafts, campfires, archery, games, and more put the simple possibilities of childhood within reach. The week-long camp is free to campers and their families, and fully funded through donations. The RRR Medical Director, Nursing Director, and Volunteer physicians and nurses provide round-the-clock medical care and support in a state-of-the-art medical facility. This care is supported by our Medical Advisory Committee, which consists of medical experts from our founding medical partner, Children’s Hospital Colorado; our partner hospitals, National Jewish Health, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Family P/SL and Vail Valley Medical Center; and other regional hospitals.
