John and I saw American Sniper this afternoon. I walked away with even more contempt for those claiming this is some glorification of snipers and/or war. It was a gritty presentation of reality, a reality that the movies detractors would likely never have the courage or skills to live through. The quiet that continued over the audience even as people were walking out suggested the movies thought-provoking and emotionally-charged impact.
