John was a 1966 graduate of North Florida Junior College in Madison, Florida. John Haskins, age 69, of Keaton Beach, FL. passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in Tallahassee, FL., following a brief illness. John was born in Valdosta, GA to Lawton and Betsy Haskins. He was a longtime resident of Jasper, FL. He served in the Army Reserves as a young man. John was co-owner and operator of multiple Hardees locations in Georgia and Florida for many years. He was a successful businessman and hard worker. In the last few years he scaled down his business to two locations, Hardees in Jasper, FL. and Hardees in Perry, FL. When he was afforded time away from his work he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. His last big trip was to Alaska fishing with several of his lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and dedication to those he loved. John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kate Deas. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sharon Bennett Haskins of Keaton Beach; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Cannon Campbell of Tallahassee, FL.; two granddaughters, Lawton and Ella; one sister, Nancy Burnham, Jasper; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
