Johor Bahru is no longer the old JB and provincial town anymore. - TopicsExpress

Johor Bahru is no longer the old JB and provincial town anymore. JB to the international investors is Iskandar Malaysia, which Iskandar Dev Authority has successfully promoted to these investor audience, and is now on their radar screen. 3 times the size of Singapore and twice the size of Hong Kong has been successfully drummed into the heads of these global investors. Puteri Harbour and other developments attracted many investors not just from Spore, but from Japan, Europe, Australia, Middle East etc and local Msians. Johor bahru thus has to learn to behave like a global city now. Building a flyover over mature housing estates is definitely not one of the acceptable and expected behaviors. We will scare the hell out of the existing and potential investors, foreign or local! How are they going to know when their turn will come when the authority will construct a flyover over their invested development in the name of connectivity! I was told a tunnel through underneath Kebun Teh/Melodies Garden will not be possible because JB is not so advanced in thinking! Hey! like I said, this is Iskandar Malaysia now. I have in fact read somewhere that Iskandar Malaysia is now ranked second globally in terms of global investment interests, just behind a place in the Middle East. It can definitely and must take a more progressive and up-to-date road infrastructure concept. This building of flyover over mature housing estates cannot and must not be the alternative chosen. Once global investors get to hear it, the reputation and trust in Iskandar Malaysia developed over the years will go down the drain immediately and it will scare the hell out of all these potential investors! Iskandar is only about 30% completed, there is still another 70% which the authority definitely does not want to jeopardize by tarnishing its reputation and trusts by building this flawed, badly thought of road concept. They must be made to realise and stop this project.
