Join Me an original poem the Lord helped me compose moments ago By beholding you are changed Transformed into the image of that which you admire Where is your heart’s greatest desire? Contemplating the infinite God Walk by faith in the shoes of laud Praise to the King immortal all-wise Yet Jesus while here was One Direction they’d despise As out of a dry ground Going through a humble round In carpenter’s garb In humanity’s lot So what is your plot? What scope of life’s experience do you seek to trot? Whatever your choices Eternity’s balance swings There are souls longing for you to bring A carol of hope A message of life In little dark places like at the midnight But looking to Calvary I’ll tell you what now I see The Man who took my place “Why hast Thou forsaken me?” But hours before He’d plead Not my will, but Thine you see What redemption has cost We’ll not know till we’ve crossed O’er the banks of the Jordan To our immortal Canaan-land All gathered on the sea of glass With characters that fully pass Reflecting the glory Of the One whose whole story Is nothing but love Is only of truth So what is the part you play? How will you live today? The trials you face Come with blessings to pray Invitations to share Opportunities to care Showing love to the downtrodden And bringing hope to the crestfallen The true work to do Is described here for you In the 58th of Isaiah Oh God, forgive us, we pray For there are our neighbors, friends So many unwarned, unloved Let the unknown song of love Shine forth in good works from above But religion is true When like the Samaritan we take the cue To do what we can Wherever we are So making the start Let’s pray for a new heart Believing He is faithful To finish what He has begun Thus trials we now embrace As expeditions in the race of grace Press onward my friend For the Lamb—He has won! What more can I say? His love takes the day And I choose Him alway Please join me, I pray
