Join the BOC at the PUDDLE DUCK HATCH! - email [email protected] to join the fun. Hatches occur when several Puddle Duck hulls (1 per group) are constructed by a group of friends or individuals under the supervision of seasoned craftsmen. No prior knowledge of boat building is required, as all parts will be pre-cut before the Hatch. Essential tools will be provided, but additional drills, screwdrivers, chisels, hammers, and saws will speed up the process. The event itself is free, but there is a cost for materials. Following the April 5th session, groups will take their Ducks home for sanding, rigging and painting. Review building plans at pdracer to decide what type of rigging you will use. Sails can be constructed from TYVEK house wrap (available at the hatch), using double-sided carpet tape and no sewing, or from a simple poly-cotton cloth.
