Question 5, the Creative and Cultural Economy Bond, would create thousands of jobs, and spur the economy while renovating and restoring key arts facilities and historic sites. The proposed bond would authorize $30 million in matching funds for renovation projects at Rhode Island arts facilities. This includes $23 million for nine named performing arts facilities as well as nearly $7 million for matching grants for other qualified facilities. Question 5 also authorizes $5 million in matching funds for State Preservation Grants, which would fund restoration projects at our state’s most historic properties.
