Join us!! https://facebook/thenwowillfail The Martial Art of Revolution - A Study in Principles of Power Now in the dawn of the 21st century, humankind faces what are quite potentially the greatest challenges of our substantial history. As such, it appears evident to me, and many others of whom I am just one small part, that we stand at the most important crossroads that we ever have stood. We are becoming acutely aware that we can either take an active role in shaping our collective future, or simply accept what direction an increasingly fewer number of our population determines for us to be our future. In consideration of such a fateful and ominous premise, I feel that it is incumbent upon all of us to weigh that decision with much deliberation and careful thought. I expect, and accept, that this is not a burden that everyone would choose to bear, but for those of us already on the front lines of the battle to change our world for the better, as well as those who will join the ranks at the time of their own choosing, I urge us to look toward the future which we would shape by first studying both our opponent and our collective recorded history, and applying the lessons that we must learn to do so wisely and capably. Our history is full of people and governments that have employed several different ideologies to justify the veritable enslavement of portions, up to, and including, the whole of their populations. Almost invariably, we can observe that the human spirit will not thrive under such circumstances of oppression, seeking instead to achieve a state of homeostasis of equal rights and freedoms. It would seem that there is a fulcrum that the lever of the whole of human action and intent is balanced upon, with tyranny at one extreme, complete and utter freedom to do what one wishes without regard for others freedoms on the other, and the balance between the two, equal rights and freedoms, that our very nature aspires to achieve at its center. When we see a time in our history when this balance has not been maintained, and the lever is over-weighted on the side of tyranny, we inevitably see an uprising, or revolution, seeking to right the balance. At this precarious crossroads which we now find ourselves, we can see that we are at such a time in our history, as revolutions are already underway around the world. Some revolutions in our past have been violent and bloody, while other revolutions have been peaceful. I wont say that peaceful revolutions havent had their share of bloodshed as well, however, it occurs to me that peaceful revolutions have been more successful, and certainly at less of a toll concerning human life and casualties. While I wont lay forth the claim that Im a leading authority on such matters, I bring 14 years of research of, and nine years of experience in participation in marches, protests, and speaking at rallies, and present this peoples manifesto for peaceful and successful means of resolution - The Martial Art of Revolution… 1. …Do not attempt to multiply your force by applying leverage, instead strive to realize that you will only apply leverage by multiplying your force… The first and most important technique of the martial art of revolution is that of using the leverage of a populations support. Any government, no matter what they want us to believe, is dependent upon the consent of the governed, for if you hold great influence over a populations belief system, you need not apply much force to pull the lever to your desired balance over the fulcrum of liberty versus tyranny. They are then simply utilizing the strength of the populations numbers as an application of leverage toward their desired goal. Conversely, if the people are unified in their realization of, and opposition to oppressive rule, they can use the leverage provided by the strength of their unity and numbers against the government to achieve their desired ends, so education of both yourself and others is of paramount urgency. Should you need further proof of my assertions to determine their validity, I reference the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln, who said, Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail. Without it, nothing can succeed. It is, therefore, imperative that the revolutionary martial artist realize that this technique is of utmost importance to their efforts, and that the following techniques serve primarily to establish their ability to harness the power of this technique of leverage, for history has shown that its proper utilization can only result in their ultimate success. 2. …One is always at greater risk of being off-balance in attack, rather than defense… The second technique of the martial art of revolution is to induce your opponent to become off-balance, by causing them to display an over-exertion of their force. Before I discuss this technique in depth, I feel it best to discuss the concept behind it first. To apply the leverage that the support of a population provides, a government must convince the majority of the people that they are just and right by influencing their thoughts and beliefs. I believe we can see this as an absolute truth, because any government who is just and right would not fear a revolution, and would have no need to influence their populations thoughts, and thereby, their behaviors. A government that is unjust must rule by deception, for fear that the people will bring the leverage of their numbers to bear and relieve them of the power that their support provides, should the true nature of their injustice be exposed to them. Toward these ends, they will use a two-pronged tactic, known in military terms as a pincer attack, to direct popular opinion. The first prong of their thought control attack utilizes the classic textbook preemptive propaganda campaign. They first devise what they feel will be an official story of incontestable logic. The official story is then perpetrated by its designers in their patriotic speeches, then perpetuated in concert by the media that supports them. Consistently throughout history, it is a small number of the population that first observes the truth behind their illusions, and they inevitably become justifiably outraged when exposed to the cruel nature of the truth behind an unjust governments deceptions. Once these individuals start to raise their voices in protest, they will be beaten, arrested, tortured, and even raped and slaughtered, in order for an unjust government to preserve the power afforded by the perceived irrefutable nature of their lies. The second prong of the attack, therefore, is to maintain their thought control of the population by justifying their use of physical violence and imprisonment. They claim that those they seek to oppress from speaking the truth possess dangerous thoughts or planned dangerous acts, thereby giving the false appearance of an honorable rationale to their tactics, though they simply seek to oppress those who would expose the truth, because the truth is the most profound danger that an unjust government faces. As long as they keep the majority of the population believing that their actions are righteous, the leverage of the peoples own numbers is continually used to oppress and enslave them. Therefore, the technique of inducing your opponent to become off-balance seems a fairly simple deduction. When a government feels threatened enough by a growing knowledge of the truth, and those who would dare to speak it, it will invariably resort to the use of physical violence and imprisonment to silence dissenters, thereby attempting to marginalize the message of those who would seek to challenge the established status quo. Any government realizes by now that engaging in such behavior will only prompt others to realize the truth of their unrighteousness and become outraged as well, undermining their ability to maintain the illusion of their legitimacy, and have accordingly prepared the argument of retaliation against the perceived threat of alleged enemies of the state, who are merely the enemies of deception and cruelty, and seek only to spread the truth. This technique is simply one of resolving oneself to a commitment of only peaceful means of resistance. This techniques strength in transferring leverage back to the people exists solely within the premise of peaceful resistance, as if any force is used, this will provide the justification to the government that is necessary to maintain the peoples belief that they are only doing the right thing to apply force when faced with force. When a government over-exerts its force by attacking peaceful resisters, rather than those who would oppose them by using force, it removes them from a position of defense of their ideologies into a mode of attack, causing them to become off-balance, because the cruel nature of their attack is obvious and the illusion begins to lose its power over an increasingly greater number of the populations minds when they are unable to justify their brutal and barbaric actions. 3. …One who is undisciplined in their quest for revolution will use their own force to attempt to gain advantage and only cause themselves further struggle, whereas one who is wise in the way of revolution will use their opponents force to achieve advantage in their attempts to further the cause that they struggle for… The third technique that must be employed is that of using the force of their own attacks against them in showing demonstrable proof to further tear away at the fabric of the illusion being used to control the minds of the people. Thusly, a revolutionary is then gaining the leverage of strength in numbers that the population provides, by recruiting more of those numbers to the revolutions cause of moving the lever back to a balance of equal rights and freedoms. Once again, historys lessons may provide us valuable insight, if only we may observe and learn them. By employing the few and only tactics available to a government that does not stand for truth and fairness, we have seen countless governments of the past have their own attempts at uses of force to maintain control of popular opinion actually destabilize and devastate their control of it. This technique of drawing others attention to their inhumane acts both completes the circle that provides the power within each technique, and its use also brings us back full circle to a point of intersection with the secondary inspiration for revolution, promoting education and awareness of the truth to others. 4. … Let your mind be as still as an undisturbed pool of water, for only through serenity can a mind be as strong as the powerful rapids that erode away all obstacles to their desired path… It may seem contradictory to end this lesson in techniques for revolution by discussing what is the primary inspiration for, and cause of, any revolutionary movement, yet I determined it to be more beneficial to end this exploration of these concepts precisely where the newly recruited must find the beginnings of their training, which is study and knowledge. Without the knowledge of the truth, one will never realize the need for revolution, and without study, one will neither achieve a state of knowledge that will lead to this realization, nor the further knowledge of the history of revolutions of the past that will be necessary to undertake one successfully. Most martial arts were formed as a means of defense by a citizenry suffering at the hands of abusive governments, so it is not too surprising that they share numerous similar principles with successful revolutions. They both have their foundations laid upon the bedrock of study and knowledge, yet for a successful revolution, study and knowledge are the very cornerstone of that foundation. To a martial artist, a lack of study and knowledge can be compensated for by possessing greater speed or strength(though it is not advisable), while the revolutionary martial artists chance of victory in their fight is directly proportional to the amount of their deficiencies in these areas. The revolutionary martial artist must be keenly aware that theirs is a mental martial art, and that it must be trained for accordingly. One must also study the timing and the weaknesses of their opponent, for, as it was stated in Bruce Lees book, The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, this will give you the capacity to knock [your opponent] down rather easily. Pursuit of greater knowledge in these affairs has provided me the insight that aspirations toward maintaining the enslavement of the spirit of humanity are no more than grandiose attempts to capture the wind by grasping at it with enough force, and with this insight comes a serenity in knowing that the values of equality, justice, liberty, and truth that we fight for will ultimately prevail. I am convinced that anyone who has the proper establishment of their foundation upon study and knowledge will feel compelled to draw the same conclusion, that the spirit of humanity is such that it will not tolerate, nor accept, the realization of the reality that they are being systematically and increasingly oppressed and enslaved by a tyrannical and brutal regime. This conviction provides the confidence in the practice of the martial art of revolution that a revolutionary will need to be possessive of the discipline and determination that they will surely require to endure the tactics that will be implemented by a government that seeks to suppress their efforts. They are the very hallmarks of megalomaniacs and madmen, and I assure you they are no less than beating, torturing, kidnapping, raping, and killing, quite literally. A revolutionary martial artist must therefore be dedicated to the solemn study of knowledge(most particularly of the true nature of your opponent and history) as their training to use the techniques of leverage and inducing their opponent to become off balance, and the principled practice of speaking out, educating others, and participating in peaceful protest and civil disobedience as their training to properly execute the third technique of using their opponents own force to defeat them, and achieve the success of their revolution.
