Gardner, Ph.D., ABPP and Zella Moore, Psy.D Changes made to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria will be presented and discussed in this workshop. This workshop will also provide a description of changes pertaining to the chapter organization in DSM-5, the multiaxial system, the introduction of dimensional assessments, controversies and challenges, and likely future directions. The purpose of this workshop is to provide the mental health professional with a working knowledge and understanding of the new diagnostic system, including changes from DSM-IV to DSM-V, and will provide a useful guide to the ways in which these changes require an adaptation of day-to-day clinical practice.
