Join us tomorrow at Brunswick Studios (London W9) for an artistic afternoon on Sunday 17th of November from 12pm until 3pm We will do some drawing on the day, but more importantly, we would like to introduce you to our exciting new project: Last September a small group of artists travelled to the Greek island of Symi for an intense week of drawing and painting. It was such a successful week that we have decided to do it again next year, and expand the scope. The course was run by the artist and lecturer Tom Davies. The participants worked sometimes from the landscape, sometimes from a life model and they also drew and painted the splendid architecture of Symi. We were staying in a beautiful villa moments from the harbour and overlooking the sea, part of which was used as the studio. At the end of the week, we threw a pop up exhibition in the Symi Gallery where the artists had a chance to show their work to local people as well as tourists. It was an unexpected and resounding success! A number of works were sold, and some have remained on the island, but the artists will be proud to show you a selection of the work they made, and we will also be presenting ideas for the 2014 project with time to answer any questions. We would also give the opportunity to anyone who comes on Sunday to partake in the ongoing mural project at the Brunswick Studios. Program of the day: 12pm to 1pm: Drawing session with materials provided. Opportunity to paint on Brunswick Studios mural 1pm to 2pm: Presentation of the Symi project by Robert Dalziel and Rosa Fruzza Presentation of the course content by Tom Davies Discussion about costs, travel arrangements, accommodation etc 2pm to 3pm: Show of the work produced during the week on Symi Drinks and nibbles Please confirm your interest to attend on the 17th as soon as possible so we have a good idea of numbers.
