Joining in the salutes to Royals 3rd Baseman and 1st Ballot HOF George Brett today. I was lucky enough to have dinner with George about 7 years ago in NYC. Went to a restaurant (Ben Bensons) which was packed, and I had no reservation. George was sitting there with Bill Bidwells brother (cant recall his name) and motioned me over to his table, and offered me a seat. He was a great story teller and really knew his steak too. One of the most pleasant people I have ever met, though he did try to sell me one of his minor league teams, I respectfully declined.
