Joining me on air now is Cliff Whiting. Cliff has launched his long-awaited book He Toi Nuku He Toi Rangi. The book, which captures Cliffs immense contribution to contemporary Māori art, was publicly launched at the National Library in Wellington on last Friday. Cliff Whiting (Te Whānau-ā-Apanui) started his career as an artist, educator and arts administrator in the 1950s. During the 1990s he played a pivotal role in the development of Te Papa, became its first Kaihautū, and was the mastermind behind creating Rongomareroa Marae
