Joining the tuba section my freshman year had been a daunting, and terrifying decision for me, but it was the best choice Ive ever made, because I was able to become close friends with Ryan. Ryan was like a brother to me, and one of the best friends I could ever dream of having. Ryan was always supportive of me inside band and out. From the little things like editing a story I was writing, to helping me become a section leader, he was always there for me when I needed him. We were a great team, always looking out for each other. He was my section leader, my partner, and my friend. All the words in the universe couldnt possibly scratch the surface of how much I miss him, or describe the bittersweet ache I get with every happy memory. Its still doesnt seem real to me. I catch myself expecting him to be at school, with that big grin on his face. I love and miss you, Ryan, Im so grateful to have been blessed with a friend as fantastic as you. If anyone finds they need someone to talk to, please dont hesitate to come find me. Ryan told me once that When in doubt, hug it out. I think those are some pretty good words to live by.
