Jon Update - well, a friend was nudging me wondering where my update has been, so I will get one out today. The past couple of weeks have been emotionally up and down for Jonathon. Thankfully, I see the down days getting less and less. He also has been able to sleep better which is wonderful. We celebrated his birthday with a few family on Tuesday night at Benihanas which was enjoyable. He also had me drop him off at UFC Gym yesterday while I was shopping, and went in with his wheelchair and worked out. He was tired, but knows that his body is going to take awhile to get back in shape as it has been through an awful lot this pass 6 weeks. Thankfully, today we heard from the insurance company that they have authorized his prosthetic through Hangar Clinic. This is exciting news! As far as what happens now (and Laura Iannone-Brumund correct me if I am wrong! lol), they will make an appointment for him to come in and they will take a cast of his stump. Once they do that, they will order the parts for his leg. And I am assuming it then gets assembled. The kids are excited because I told them when he starts learning how to walk on it (this is called gate training) I will take them with us so they can watch. this has surely been a family affair, and we are learning so much about a world that up to this point we have not been a part of. Thanks again to Laura for her encouragement and willingness to answer our many questions! Also, I thank you all for your continued prayers as Jonathon goes through what he refers to as his new reality. We all appreciate them very much!
