Jonathan “Jonny” Ramrup was born Wednesday July 27th - TopicsExpress

Jonathan “Jonny” Ramrup was born Wednesday July 27th 1994, in the humbling city of Brampton Ontario, Canada. He is the first of two children between Guyanese Canadian immigrants Elizabeth & Divon Ramrup. Divon Ramrup, was brought up in a Christian household. Throughout his childhood all he did was grow in his relationship with God. When he was in his mid-teenage years he asked God to bless him with a wife. Faithfully, in 1984, while he was roaming the hallways of his high school his eyes laid upon an individual who not only became his wife but became his best-friend, lover, his everything. Early in their relationship it wasn’t that hard to see that they were destined to be together. As the years progressed throughout their relationship they decided to get married May 16th 1991 and three years later they had their first born Jonathan Luke Ramrup. A year, a month and a day progressed and Elizabeth gave birth to their second son, Christian Ramrup. Thanks to their fathers’ hard work and advanced knowledge of the stock market he was able to provide a very privileged life and thanks to their mother’s upbringing and teachings they were able to raise two very outstanding young men. Jonathan started kindergarten in 1999. He was able to speak right before he started kindergarten. As a young child and just learning the English language he couldn’t spell “Jonathan” properly so he put “Jonny” on the papers and handouts and the name stuck. Hence he got his nickname “Jonny”. Fast forward 10 years or so Jonathan now being in the fifth grade had developed quite a love for music; especially for hip-hop. He already dabbled in writing in some poetry and he rapped at his elementary school’s talent show. When Jonathan started middle his parents enrolled him in his school’s band program. He played trombone for numerous years and even played it in his early high school years. As Jonathan began to grow and mature, he got into his first major relationship in grade 10. As tokens of his appreciation he wrote poems and sang songs for his girlfriend. Throughout Jonathan’s high school career the guidance counselors, teachers kept on pushing the question, “What will you be when you grow up”. Laying in his bed pondering on that question, he made up his mind that he has to do something that can make a difference in numerous people’s lives and it would have to be something he loves to do. He decided that he would become a famous rapper. Although, he didn’t take his dream that seriously until a year or two later when Jonny asked God to show what he would be doing with the rest of his life and low and behold he saw him-self on stage rapping. Before he got his microphone, or any instrumentals he was recording little verses on his iPod or iPhone and would send it to people all over. Jonathan started getting instrumentals and started to write lyrics for those instrumentals. In May of 2012, Jonny took a trip to Nashville Tennessee to spend a week to relax and focus on life. He was able to purchase his microphone which would launch him and professionally start his music career. Upon his, arrival back to Canada he immediately got to work on his first mixtape titled, Love Letters. Although building a good little buzz globally through networking he rushed his first mixtape and made very crucial errors. Aside from the mediocre mixtape and his sub-par first music video, I’m Into You (youtube/watch?v=zRMpD9JJWYM) the mixtape and music video didn’t launch the young and aspiring musician to where he wanted to be. Despite this he decided he would do another music video for the song, Take It Back which he wrote when he was Chicago Illinois. When he wrote the song, Take It Back he was going through a very rough patch in his relationship with current girlfriend Sadia A. When he came back to Canada he didn’t wait too long to release the music video for it and this one pushed the young artist in the direction he wanted to go in. However the turnaround was to no prevail, after suffering the loss of his best friend and constant disputes between Sadia the young artist was in quite a conundrum. He took a bit of time off music and just lived his life. During his time off his music, Jonny remembered the words his dad gave to him one night when Jonny went to show his dad a song he just finished very early in his music career; “Jonny you can’t just talk when you do music you have to put your heart and soul into it”. And thus so, a rebirth had taken place. Jonny started taking music even more seriously and because of his poor relationship with his girlfriend at the time Jonny spent a lot of time with music. He recorded several songs and did several new music videos which was quite the improvement from his previous ones: Love Story (Lovers Silhouette Part ½) [Sideline Story Remix] (youtube/watch?v=4j5pJcBstpg) Dreams Over Everything (youtube/watch?v=Txknsmy78W4) Love Letters (Part 2) (youtube/watch?v=uJfmhJY-_mQ) Enough Said (Remix) (youtube/watch?v=G7l8RUlf_-I) Dreaming of You (youtube/watch?v=q-HVN13tiTQ) After, all of the positive reviews; growing fanbase and growing as an artist Jonathan took a leap of faith when he applied to be in his first show. Despite all the other musicians that applied Jonny was chosen to perform in his first show. He thought as nothing less than an accolade because he was rapping less than a year when he was asked to do his first show. In anticipation for his first show he signed up with a musical website, Reverbnation (reverbnation/). He thought this was a great platform along with Youtube (youtube/) because this was a website in which he could upload songs and easily network with other producers and artists; he didn’t have to upload a music video every time he released something like how he felt obligated to do when he did anything with YouTube. The artist started releasing song after song which released numerous positive reviews not just from a local setting but a global setting. As the date for his first show got closer and closer he decided to release his first EP titled, Before The Show (mediafire/download/q70c7w09bapt3kl/EP+BEFORE+THE+SHOW.zip) to build hype for his first performance. The EP received positive reviews all over like in Canada, USA, Australia and many other countries. Unfortunately, as the show was less than a week away the event planners and Jonny had a miscommunication and consequently he was not able to perform at his first show. Morale hurt and hearts low Jonny did not let that discourage him. He continued to do what he does which is record and write music. However, Jonny was faced with some more hardships as his long-time girlfriend Sadia and he had a mutual breakup. He once again took a break from music catering to the fact that in a lot of his songs it was stories to do with them or it was referencing them. During his break he did nothing but grow as an individual and as an artist. He came back better than ever and released numerous hits and gained more new fans and haters. Some of his most popular songs were (and songs that were on his EP): You Know What To Do (reverbnation/superstarjonny/song/16514929-you-know-what-to-do) Glass House (reverbnation/superstarjonny/song/16427186-glass-house) Dreams (reverbnation/superstarjonny/song/17613900-dreams-produced-by-adrian-domeyer) As the months progressed, Jonny had numerous talks with event holders and probably one of the biggest encounters he had was with the, Mississauga Arts Counsel. Jonny was asked to open up for fellow Canadian superstar, Classified. Unfortunately, due to the content of Jonathan’s music he was removed from the show. Spirits low once again, Jonathan still pursued his music and made a couple more music videos: Mirrors (Remix) (https://youtube/watch?v=7MF7EThCGI00) Words (https://youtube/watch?v=ppGvoRukmp0) Once again, despite the pros in the young musician’s career he was hit with his biggest hardship when his mom died (July 2 2013). He took a break from everything and, when he was ready he slowly started to get back into music. He was interviewed on August 9 2013 by Melissa P. Where we learned more about the artist, answered some questions that the artist was constantly asked, and he gave some philosophies on life. Interview with Jonny aka J-Styles by Melissa P (August 9 2013) (https://youtube/watch?v=KnchNwAV1yo) Falling into another hole, because he wasn’t able to deal with his mother’s passing in the best way he ending up recording songs that talked about the whole experience of losing his mom in a sudden way. Jonny ended up releasing a new music video titled, Sleepless Reflections (In the Garage 1) (https://youtube/watch?v=GOW2Yau9Wlc). This was very well received amongst his fan base locally and globally. Some time passed, and Jonny released his first “official” trending song, Shawty Never Let Me Go (reverbnation/superstarjonny/song/18682697-shawty-never-let-me-go). This new trending song catapulted Jonny within the top 10 rankings of the Reverbnation’s charts. Then about a week or two later Jonny released the song, So Alone (ER) (reverbnation/superstarjonny/song/18790019-so-alone-er). This song talked about the some of the events that surrounded his mom’s sudden passing. This resonated with the global fanbase and once again Jonny had another “official” trending song and thus so he moved within the top 5 on Reverbnation’s chart. Currently, the artist is just writing songs, recording music, networking with fellow artists, producers and DJ’s locally and globally and working on a few mixtapes. He is also working on other concepts which will surely launch the young artist where he wants to go. “A little bit of hell is worth the heaven” - Jonny Jonathan “Jonny” Ramrup was born Wednesday July 27th 1994, in the humbling city of Brampton Ontario, Canada.
