Jonathan, PDP caucus members in closed door meeting President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday night met behind closed doors with members of the national caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja. The meeting, which held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was a prelude to the National Executive Council meeting of the party billed for Thursday. Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta told State House correspondents that the party’s election guidelines in 2015 dominated discussions at the meeting, which ended in the early hours of Wednesday, “Most of the discussions were centred on the 2015 elections; that is preparations of the party for the 2015 elections. “There were presentations by the National Working Committee. You know we have our National Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, and the guidelines for the party were discussed. “But most of the decisions will be taken at the NEC meeting on Thursday. “What we did here was to brainstorm on certain issues that will be presented at the NEC meeting. “So, it is on that Thursday that a lot of the decisions that will guide us for the 2015 elections will be taken,” Uduaghan said. Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia spoke in similar vein, saying that the PDP election guidelines would be tabled before the NEC meeting on Thursday. The meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) is also billed to hold at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s NEC meeting. Present at the caucus meeting were Vice President Namadi Sambo; the President of the Senate, Sen. David Mark, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha. Others were the Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba; the Deputy Senate Leader, Abdul Ningi; the PDP Chairman, Adamu Muazu; the Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus, and a former PDP Chairman, Ahmadu Ali. The Secretary of the PDP BoT, Walid Jibril; the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Rufai Alkali; the PDP National Women Leader, Kema Chikwe and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, were also present. Governors Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Jonah Jang (Plateau) and Theodore Orji (Abia) also attended the event Story Justin Akpovi-Esade wrote: TB JOSHUAS BUILDING COLLAPSE: FACTS, CONJECTURES AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES FACT: TB Joshua’s church guest house collapsed. FACT (as provided by the CCTV footage and visual confirmation by residents): A mystery plane was seen hovering around the said building several minutes before it went down. CONSPIRACY THEORY, CONJECTURE AND SPIRITUALISM: The plane as being claimed by TB Joshua was responsible for the collapse. HASTY INVESTIGATION BY EMERGENCY WORKERS/FACEBOOKERS: Substandard building materials, faulty building plan must have been responsible for the collapse. FALLACY: TB Joshua may have used the blood of the victims of the collapsed building to gain more powers. UNRESOLVED FOR NOW: What manner of a plane would fly that low and in one building perimeter for several minutes, that is if one is to believe the CCTV footage released by the church? THE MAN TB JOSHUA: It appears the kind of person TB Joshua is perceived to be, is evoking different kinds of sentiment. He appears to be an ‘outlaw’ even among so called Christians because of his style of Christianity and miracle deliverance which enjoys a riotous TV followership across the world but which many too, view as ‘diabolic’. MY SUBMISSION: While disasters are happening daily, I would prefer we look at what happened dispassionately. I don’t believe in coincidences, I won’t also buy into the spiritual angle of it but I don’t like unresolved mystery and for me (after watching the CCTV footage), the plane is a mystery. Only TB Joshua, for very convenient reasons too, would want us to believe the plane caused the collapse, but relevant authorities should carry out a proper forensic examination and tell us why (within reasonable human comprehension) the building came down. I will leave the spiritual angle for spiritualists and believers.
