Jose Leonardo states so beautifully Eco-cide is a product of the exploitation of resources, driven by the infinite cycle of the capitalist system. Because the social and economic structure capitalism creates is based on scarcity, it implies imbalance by default. Social imbalance. Racial imbalance. Economic imbalance. Ecological imbalance. I think environmentalists have to begin to understand that at the core of all ecological collapse lies an economic system that rewards it. We have to begin to attack the system itself, not just the people working under it. Capitalism is infinite and scarcity based, our planet is finite and for millions of years it was abundant... theres no way the two could ever work forever. Together there will always be disharmony. One is eventually going to have to die: it will either be capitalism, or us. Unless we dont begin working towards a new system, unfortunately we will have to pay the price and all life as we know it will be gone forever. #WHYILOVETHESEAMAZINGYOUNGACTIVISTS
