Joseph Doherty writes: What does that have to do with Mt.Dennis..I dont need to explain to the regulars in this group, however, in my next presentation at the Mount Dennis Library, in February, my focus will be the History of Mount Dennis beginning with the Wisconsin Ice Sheet which led to such Industries as brick making using silt, sand and gravel.(such as John Brown and sons - brickyard). But before this, the focus will be on the impact of the Indian (Aboriginal) Trails and John Dennis shipyard which was located just north of the mouth of the Humber and the impact of the Toronto Carrying Place (Portage) which led John D. to obtain land east of the Humber by present day Eglinton. His grandson, John Stoughton Dennis, made the first plan of the second village of Weston in 1846 centred on Church and Main (Weston) which was beneficial when the village on the island flooded in 1859..I can go on..but this is relevant to Mount Dennis...there are no boundaries to history..
