Josh, who works in the Outback Walkabout and helps with animal shows, is holding Hootie, a Barred Owl. The Barred Owl is known for its distinctive call and more commonly as a hoot owl. It will also hiss in a raspy voice when agitated. Barred Owls can have a life expectancy of 10 to 20 years. Hootie is a rescued owl that is blind in both eyes, but as a great disposition and allows people to pet him during animal shows. Josh tells us another unique thing about Hootie in the video.
