Joshua’s attorney called him yesterday. She had a scheduling - TopicsExpress

Joshua’s attorney called him yesterday. She had a scheduling conflict. She had contacted the Wetumpka Municipal Court to ask for a continuation. His traffic ticket hearing has been rescheduled for May 6th. I know that God is in control, but I have a suspicion as to the direction God is leading this. I try to be fair in my treatment of other people. I know people who are knowledgeable and reliable. So when I have reliable intelligence and personal knowledge I’ll state what I have personal knowledge of and I freely acknowledge that I don’t have access to all of the facts. The city of Wetumpka is acquiring a reputation for over-aggressive traffic enforcement. I’m not going to list the various examples that I have been given or that I have knowledge of. I will say that the examples I have are of unfair and unethical treatment. I cannot say that this is being done maliciously or by design. We have to travel to my brother George, he lives in the town of Elmore. We use 231 North to Highway 14. That takes us through Wetumpka. I enjoy going this way because of the scenery and Wetumpka is an attractive city. There are many features of Wetumpka that are appealing. I enjoy stopping in Wetumpka to purchase food and there are times that I’ve purchased other items. This generates a small income for the retail market and for Wetumpka’s sales tax base. I’m not going through Wetumpka anymore. I am going to use I-65 North to Millbrook, then 14 to Elmore. I agree with the comments made that the city of Wetumpka is using traffic enforcement as a source of revenue. With the casino there they’ll have a sales tax base, but they’re damaging their other retail markets by the discouragement of through-traffic. I believe that some considerations need to be made by the city of Wetumpka as to how they wish their long-term program to proceed.
