José Mourinho has revealed that he will look to bring in “a few” new players this summer – but insists that his priority is to get the best out of what he already has at his disposal at Chelsea. The 50-year-old Portuguese coach was officially unveiled as Chelsea boss for a second time on Monday after agreeing a four-year deal to return to the club he managed between 2004 and 2007. The Blues continue to be linked with a host of players in the off-season, including the likes of Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Brazil striker Hulk. And Mourinho, who says he is looking forward to working with the likes of John Terry and Frank Lampard for the second time, insists that the Blues will show their “ambition” in the transfer market. “Of course there are a few boys from my [first] time,” Mourinho said. “It’s always go back and see people who gave everything to me when I was here. [But] I think it’s important to tell you that there is no privilege for them. “They know already as they know my nature as a manager. It is important to have it clear that they don’t have an advantage in relation to other people. “After that, there is a group of boys who I think Chelsea did well to get – young boys with great quality for the future. I look forward to working with them and helping [to] improve them. “After that, I think every club, especially a club like us, has the ambition to add a few players [to] improve the squad and improve the competitiveness between them. “I think my most important job at the moment is around improving the boys. I am more than happy to help them.”
