Journal Online – Marcos: Gov’t should build nuclear power plant 15 August 2014 By Edd Reyes | Journal Online SENATOR Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. yesterday says the government should start thinking of building a nuclear power plant in order to prevent an impending power crisis in the future. During his visit in Valenzuela City for a multi-sectoral dialogue on infrastructure development and local government issues with Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo and other local leaders, Marcos said the unabated energy problem is imminent and building of new nuclear power plant is one of the reasonable solution. Marcos said the building of Bataan Nuclear Power Plant was stopped due to political issue and should not be feared for a nuclear meltdown. He added that in various countries, nuclear facilities helps a lot in improving economy since it was the source of much cheaper source of energy. Marcos said foreign investors avoid investing in our country since ours is one of the highest electricity rates in Asia. Marcos believed that the economic development in our country would depend on whether it can deliver sufficient and affordable energy to its citizens and the only solution is to produce electricity at a lower cost by building a nuclear power plant. bongbongmarcos/news/post/journal-online-marcos-govt-should-build-nuclear-power-plant/
